Gameforge also requires you to have a sub to use the extra character slots, so that is hardly a reason to start over since the two publishers are doing the exact same thing.

Having recently played EU Aion, I would say there are several points in NA Aion's favor. First, it is much easier to get transformation contracts in NA. EU can get 2 free from the BCM every few days where in NA they have a chance to drop from the final boss in all instances. Also, EU's transformations are server wide and not account wide. Meaning if you unlock a transform on any character on your account in NA, that transform will be available on every character on your account; while in EU that transform is only available on the characters on the same server. Second, luna is craftable in NA. It's true that EU's luna costs for things are much lower, but we basically get free luna just by afking luna dailies and weeklies. Lastly, EU is unplayable without a sub. It's true that you can buy their gold pack with kinah, in a patch where kinah is so much more difficult to come by that's not as helpful as it once was. In NA, you can 100% play the game without a sub and use every function of the game.

Being perfectly honest, Gameforge does a much better job communicating with their players. I can perfectly understand why NA players are frustrated and may be considering a change. I guess my point is that the grass isn't as green as you think over there.

That's all very well summed up. Thank you for this relevant post / comparison. I started playing Aion in EU, then after 4 years i re-rolled on NA servers and it felt like i could finally breathe & freely enjoy all aspects of the game without having to worry about getting a monthly GoldPack (or subscription).  I find the Gameforge f2p model to be too restrictive (especially for free players / users) compared to the NA model. The lower ping & the suitable siege schedule were the only things i missed when i moved from EU to NA.

  2. Hello all,

i'm a returning user too & i'm feeling lost too. I just reached level 80, with difficulty & trashed half of the lakrum equipment that was given for free (i thought i was getting twice the same set while i was actually getting a pvp version & a pve version of it) & i have no idea what to do now that i'm level 80 with very basic gear (mixture of pvp & pve lakrum campaign quest set).

I still have my old pvp magic resist set & magic boost pvp set as well as a healing pve harvester set, but i was informed by fellow players that the lakrum set was better now.

I'd appreciate any help / guide on what i should do 1st to gear up my cleric & how to slowly get it back on track.

    Thank you. :)

I'll never understand the whole shaming player thing, I would rather want to know who the hackers/cheaters are so that if I did run into them open world or in instances I would know not to waste my time or augment.

You spoke my mind here LittleSpoon. Applying the rule that forbids naming and shaming a player in public isn't relevant in the case of hackers. I personally just see it as an excuse for them to continue hacking freely without being bothered. Publicly denouncing a hacker (with a reliable / verified proof at hand) is just like denouncing a scammer, it's a necessity, it doesn't make sense to keep their identity secret while denouncing them and making their identity public would be more beneficial than detrimental to the community and its integrity. It's not about "naming and shaming" or backbiting, it's about denouncing a behavior in order to prevent it from spreading and harming an entire community.

Hello everyone, we have updated the FAQ on how character transferring and faction conflicts will be resolved. I have the edit quoted below for easy reading, and merges will be pushed out until early October, but the final date will be announced later. Feel free to post any question you may have. Thank you.

Great news! :D Thank you! xD

  5. Like many of you here, I miss Katalam and Danaria, but to me, they wouldn't fit as server names.

Among all the suggested names, I love Sakrapes.

I would like to add Anuhart to the suggestions. There used to be a server called Anuhart in EU but it became Hellion after the merge.

  6. Please NCsoft, don't make us pay for the transfers. I understand your concern regarding the free transfer abuse, but I'm sure you can find other ways to prevent that without making those who have conflicting toons pay for a transfer they initially didn't plan on making, but happen to be forced to do it in spite of themselves due to the merge.
