  1. Character and Legion Name Ownership Policy

Hi, just wanted to let Cyan or any NCsoft support know that I'd like my old name back, Ricochet. I logged on about 10min after the maintenance was over only to find out that somebody had already taken it. It's not a very "common" name, and people already associate my lvl 75 gunner with it. I'm pretty sure whoever took that name has malicious intent (scamming other people into thinking it's me, taking it so I cannot have it, etc.). I sent in tickets to support and no response so far. I know people who sent in tickets after I did and got faster responses. All I want is to get my name back (I've been using it for years+) It's not even a common/popular name.

  3. PvP Gearing for New Players?

70AP >>>> 65 pvp gear. It's better because: It's upgradeable into end-game 75ap gear. It has better pvp defense (tiny number, but still matters). Can socket archdaeva manastones into it. (Only perk about officer/mythic r1 set is that you can socket ancient manastones into it, so if you have yours still, time to make a temporary msup/accuracy/strike resist/whatever set.) Just remember archdaeva manastones are better than blue composites stat-wise. Depending on your level, I'd say: levels 66-70 : just make the 70 ap set, yes you would use more omegas to enchant to upgrade, but a difference of 5 omegas + supps isn't as expensive as running around in crappy 65 gear for 4 levels. levels 70-73: Still can use your 70ap pieces temporarily, but upgrade to 75ap piece by piece. It's much more worth, imo, to gradually upgrade 70ap pieces instead of running around in 65 gear for a bunch of levels and then getting 75ap. If you're going to aim straight for 75ap, at least get arena set before or something. Literally any new archdaeva pvp set is better than 65 officer/Mr1 gear for magic boost classes.
  4. Kumuki's Daring Rescue Item Reward List

Just wanted to say that this event has really improved from the previous Kumuki from a few months ago--really good way to help players gear up before merge without ridiculously inflating/changing the economy. (i.e., people can't store up hundreds of tradeable omegas >_>) People can still make decent kinah from this, but it's more so about supplying items needed to actually upgrade gear. YAY NC FINALLY! Question - would it be possible to include tempering solutions as part of the prize list? They don't have to be tradeable. They can also be ridiculously priced by the NPC (like the felis..?), but as of right now the only way to obtain temperings are rather rare, and considering the amount needed to temper breakable 75ap accessories, I think it would be nice to have NC include temperings as part of the prize list. I don't know if the omission was accidental or purposeful, but please make temperings as accessible as omegas! It's especially important to new players who are trying to not die in two shots from people with +5 -- +7 tempered accessories...

  6. PvP Gearing for New Players?

Wow, Fest just gave a really thorough guide and there's not much you can really add to it in terms of steps of acquiring gear. However, a lot of new players are really intimidated by prices of enchanting/socketing gear, so here are some personal tips for those looking to complete their sets. This is directed towards new players. 1) Make friends. Obviously, look around for a legion to join that has some experienced players willing to give server/faction-specific advice. Every server has a different economy. I know friends on Beritra who have issues making spinels, and I know friends on Siel who are intimidated by the inflated prices there. Ask around for appropriate prices, and sometimes friends can sell you much cheaper prices of medals/omegas/manastones than on broker. 2) Buy used gear. One of the better things about 5.0+ is that most gear is tradeable. A TON of end-game geared people on the more populated servers are desperate to sell their former gear. I know I was willing to sell a lot of my old arena pieces and my archdaeva pvp wings for cheap, and so you can DEFINITELY ask around on LFG to buy used gear. A lot of end-game geared people are willing to sell their valor insignias for cheap, and sometimes it's better than weeks and weeks of afking. (Also, with all the ancient coins you farm, you can buy unbinding stones! NPC is in Cygnea/Enshar.) 3) Make kinah for PVP gear through PVE. Supplements for enchanting drop like candy in most pve instances (AOE, COE, etc, etc) so make sure you burn pve cds. You also get a lot of pve gear to disenchant for dust that you can craft black stones with, as well as crafting stones to craft manastones. PVE is actually a decent source of kinah, and again with what Fest said, Ancient Coin gear will get you a long way in PVE AND PVP. Find a LFG group for lower-level PVE instances, and see if you can join a legion that is willing to take you to higher level instances as well. 4) Solo Instances every day. Fissure gives you ancient coins. Luna daily has chances to drop omegas and will give you a level reduction stone every 7 days. Do Luna weekly with the Mechatunerk quest and 7 Luna Weekly runs will give you 90 +6 manastones (tradeable) of your choice. (There's also a super high chance of Luna weekly dropping temperings every S rank you get.) A lot of new players don't know how profitable Luna can be. Fissure and Luna also give you a lot of exp, especially for low levels. Luna daily takes like 10 minutes MAX, and fissure clearing is pretty fast as well. Basically, farming spinel medals and AP for gear can be daunting, as well as getting arena tokens. While you do your PVE stuff, you can make kinah to buy those pieces eventually. PVP gear can be super expensive to get, especially if you want to get end-game gear, but it's faster farming it with other people than just doing solo stuff by yourself.
  7. Grand Gold Arena Infinite Queue Time

I do believe there's some issue with the matchmaking/queue system and it's snowballing. I remember that when the 6v6 grand arena first came out, there were a lot of premade teams in queue. The next weekend, I know of about the same number of premade teams who decided to queue, but then gave up because the time was too long. Every weekend that the queue system is broken, the queue gets longer and longer. I don't think it's a matter of people, but people do give up on queuing because the wait takes too long, and so it makes the queue take even longer. I think that once NCSOFT fixes the ranking system, we'll be able to fully see how many teams queue for grand arena. It's pretty disappointing, though, because one of the main reasons I stayed to play was because in 5.6 the grand arena 6v6 seemed fun. Now it's basically broken Q.Q
