Well it could be a filesystem error, or a hardware errors on your hard drive. Are you using a mechanical drive or an SSD?
You can try running disk check, In This PC, Properties on drive D, Tools, Check and Scan Drive, see how that goes, if its a software error this should be able to correct it, if its a hardware one it could at least move the file or unlock it so you can delete it and rescan the game, as a last resort you can try moving the whole game to another drive if you have and point the launcher there(skip the access denied files and rescan after). Thats what comes to mind without getting too technical.
I am attempting that now, but the scan is taking quite some time. I'll post the results, good or bad, when it completes. Thank you for the suggestion, and if anyone has any other thoughts I am open to hearing them!

Hey folks. I just went to update my launcher (as I do periodically) and I got a really weird message (posted below). Has anyone dealt with this before, and if so, how did you fix it?
I tried restarting my computer and running Scan File, but it didn't help. So, I went to the file in the folder mentioned and tried to delete it, thinking maybe if I ran other scan it would replace the deleted file and maybe fix the issue. BUT, the file is apparently corrupt and I cannot delete the file. Should I try deleting the entire Dialog folder? I'm not sure what to do and would appreciate any help offered.

Here I thought: "Oh look, Stormwing Event. I've only missed three days. I should still be able to make the deadline, after all, we usually have a few extra days of wiggle-room. After leaving Aion for two months, maybe I'll log in for a couple minutes and try to get a new Apostal. For the fun of it. See who is still alive....." Then I realize that, once again, I'm being asked to have my game open and idle for literally 24 hours a day. BREAKING NEWS: WE ARE NO LONGER LOCKED UP FOR COVID19! Players have lives. This game is literally designed for robots now. I am reminded of why I quit. *disappears off the face of the Earth/Atreia again*.

Welcome. To be frank, after playing Aion for ten years (I began in 2013) I left Aion over a month ago because the game has gotten stale, and the current dynamics are severely off-putting. There is no longer a balance between free game play and paying to play, and Aion has shifted to being solely PVP centered with nothing engaging within the game environment anymore. Players can't make any game progress these days without being expected to spend large quantities of money.
That being said, I would like to offer my support for making Luna easily obtainable to the players again. Luna is needed for both the essentials of preparing gear, and for the frivolous things like expanding character wardrobes. Although it won't help with the larger issues Aion has today, I think at least some players might log-in during the weekends again if they could at least regain the ability to acquire Luna on a daily basis again.

Yeah I'm pretty much done with Aion at this point. I haven't uninstalled as of yet, but I'm literally just logging on for two minutes to grab the free log-ins and then I close the game completely. With 99% of the people I used to play with gone, the last drops of fun have been wrung out of the sponge. I had entertained the thought of following other players to the Elyos side, just so I could maybe find some old Asmo players who had jumped ship to play with. But then I thought... what's the point? I'll be just as bored over there because there will be absolutely no competition from the Asmos. Most likely just two-to-three Elyos factions fighting amongst themselves. Aion has sunk into a black hole it cannot escape because the Asmos have zero initiative to try for anything. Our numbers are nearly non-existent. Not trying to cry a river over here, just lamenting.
I'd say thanks for the 10 years, but I haven't really had any genuine fun in Aion since the 5.0 patch.

Yeah, it really sucks. I know the Wings were not the most coveted item, but at least they and the hanbok skin were something new. My favorite type of Event has always been the kind where you can get a skin, emote or mount after preforming a relatively simple task. However, nowadays we just can't enjoy that type of event because the goals are too far out of reach. If every mob had a 100% chance of dropping the quest item(s), and the goal number of the quest was realistically achievable, then players could have actually enjoyed the event. We could have focused one week doing the GOG and a second week collecting for the Silk. Instead, everyone was just disappointed. I mean, think about it: players needed to loot 110 quest items just to gain 1 Silk, and we needed 30 Silk pieces to turn in the quest. You put that together and you need 3,300 Silk pieces. That is a huge number in-of itself, and the mobs don't even drop the quest items every time. On top of that, you can only gain up to two pieces of Silk per day. Players were set up to fail.
I just wish the Aion Team would take a little time before releasing the Events, to modify the goals so they are more realistic for our Server.

Somehow it was always an even amount of rice versus chocolate. For 30 silks, at 110 food per feeding, that would take at least 3,300 minutes of farming. I only had 6 of those amulets left from my Aterian Atlas (yea, they were pretty dusty when I found them hiding ..) so only 6 hours of my farming was at the 60% drop rate.
When I was sleeping and not at/watching my screen, I had on a +8 drop rate runestone socketed which only gave a 36% item drop rate boost. While that was on, it took 1.5-2 minutes per drop. Keep in mind I was in a spot with level 80 mobs that weren't too spread out, and with my gear I was killing mobs pretty fast (2-3 hits). Since I'm not a robot, it took me a solid week of farming whenever I could, skipping everything else I normally do to be able to finish.Pet feeding was also time consuming. You could only feed the pet every 2 hours. 30 feeds x 2hrs=60 hours minimum waiting time. I would stop auto hunting and give my devil it's food, then continue hunting away. It took 3 minutes to get the pet full (30 feedings x 3min= 90 min total to feed your pet with no interruptions).
It would've been cheaper to just buy this off the BCM rather than spend 100+ hours trying to complete this event with its awful drop rate.
The cherry on top: even though the pet and the food have not been deleted yet, there is no way to turn in the quest without talking to the NPC (it was removed when the event ended last maintenance)
Side note: the animation when the cow smiles looks bugged and lasts not even 1 second. I tried to get a screenshot of it smiling but had no luck. Oh well.
Hey, thanks for taking the time to make a detailed reply. It sounds like even for those who have the ability to leave their computer idle and the game open for many, many hours per day, it still took a full week and countless hours of your time to accomplish the event goal. You also mentioned that you were completely unable to do anything else in the game in order to farm.
For those of us who have responsibilities, work, etc. and can only play Aion for a couple hours per day (plus weekends) this is truly impossible. I would really like to address the staff here @Primali @Roseae@EMpulse: Why are today’s Events designed so that players can’t play? We have to choose between participating in the event, or actually playing the game. The quests give us huge numbers to try and reach and on top of that, the drop rate is extremely poor. We don’t even have the option to group-up and mass-kill mobs and share the loot. Instead, our computers are held up for nearly 24 hours per day, 7 days a week while our characters behave as robots. During this period we can’t run instances. We can’t rebuild our renown. We can’t do Apsar legion quests. We can’t work on the Daeva Pass. We can’t play. A response from the Aion Team would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah I had noticed that too. So even though we still had the pet for a couple extra days, we could not collect any more food to try and get some silk for the event quest. I did write a ticket about how rarely the mobs were dropping the food and what a big number we needed for the quest. I was, of course, redirected to voice my opinion here on the forums. So here I am. When we have auto-hunt centered events ALL mobs should drop the quest items 100% of the time. It is the only way to achieve the huge numbers were are asked to achieve in order to participate in the Event. I hope I can get some support on this.
P.S. It also would not hurt if the loot was shareable in group, like the flower petal event we can do even in an Alliance. The faction that farms together stays together

I'm curious: about how much powder and cacao were you able to loot Auto-hunting? I simply do not have the opportunity to leave my computer idle to auto-hunt 12+ hours per day, and playing the game normally (completing daily, weekly, and seasonal quests throughout the maps) I was only able to loot enough food for the Anti-couple to give me 1 Rice Cake.

Reporting an Event bug: when you change Maps, your Little Devil's bar completely resets. Got mine up to 50% in Demaha and when I ported back to Gelk it was back to 5%

Players have committed much larger offenses and not received a ban on their account. This wasn't even a legit attempt at a sale. Why so much hypocrisy?

(AKA Snowball Event) duration is listed for December 7 – December 28. However, the event continued this past week. The Apsaranta Meal Kit Event duration is listed for December 7 – January 4 , but the event ended last week. Finally, the Winter Wonderland event duration is listed for December 14 – January 11... Is this last part true at least?

Sadly, this is not the first time I've noticed a ninja sneak in and change something about an event (whether it be a listed reward or a date change)
. I believe past Snowball Events have always lasted 4 weeks total, so I'm not sure what the purpose of shortening the event is... Just looks shady and leaves the players disgruntled.

@EMpulse Why wasn't Solorinerk Egg (24-space pet bag) added to the Black Cloud Market this year? We need someone to hold our holiday presents, so it would be nice to have it added to the BCM or (even better) Luna Crafts for the season

I upvote this. Need to prioritize spending time with friends and family for the holidays (Santa's gifts wont move themselves) so not having to worry about Renown for a week or two would be fantastic.

I completely agree that this change should be made. There is far too much RNG in aion these days. Its frustrating even to the big spenders.

Considering I asked them to let me use a Restoration Token five months ago in July, and they had not changed the policy until just a month ago... Well, that just makes me even madder that they refused my request when it actually was eligible. This is what they told me, and it's time stamped:
I once asked, after being told over-and-over, that items that I wanted to use Restoration Tokens on were "ineligible", could they please provide me with some examples of what kind of things were eligible. They informed me that decisions are totally up to whomever answers your ticket, that even if an item was previously eligible for Restoration for someone else, they "reserve the right" to refuse to assist you. You are completely at the mercy of whomever answers your ticket. So, pray for someone kind.

Support has politely informed me that their policy is no policy. It is up to the sole discretion of whomever answers your ticket if they want to help you or refuse you. In other words; they are allowed to help one player with their request, and turn you down for the exact same request. I do not remember support being so.... Scrooge-like back in the day.

The RNG is exactly why I no longer make purchases from Aion. The odds are absurdly stacked against the players, and if we want to hope for a better result we are expected to blow our life-savings on outlandishly priced items only to get the same unsatisfying result and sell our burial plots to cover the costs.

This is exactly what happened to me. After 18 months, I now have 3 Nezekans and 0 Zikel. Six months ago, I too requested to use a restoration token and I was told the item was not eligible. Your frustration is valid.

Shugo games were from 11 PM to 1 AM for me. Horrid time slot, could not play at all!

Compensation for Server Outage - July 11, 2023 [Aion]

I'm about to head to sleep too, and looks like the Servers are still down. Just wanted to chime in that for players who live on the East Coast, our BCM purchases do not reset until 8:00PM, after maintenance. Therefore, all players on the East Coast of North America will not be able to purchase their five daily Storm Tokens. The twelve tokens for logging in will be covered in the Survey, but not the five from the BCM or the Transformation Coins.
