Mastering Alchemy

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I need kinah. Lol. So I am looking up alchemy. Im already at the 100-199p stage but I got a question. Is it necessary to take up essencetapping and aethertapping in order to make alchemy profitable??

And which items (aside from work orders) should I start crafting.

Any items that you can recommed as to whats profitable to craft. Hehe. Thanks.

You might want to read through the two threads below. Beyond that, it is not necessary to take up aethertapping as you can buy aether in the craft hall in Sanctum/Panda. However, yes, it will save you kinah if you can tap your own aether.

Oh. Sorry. Thanks for the info.

I have another question, though. @Vantheria-DN Where do you het your mats for the crafts? Is there an npc that sells em. Or like the question above. Do I have to lvl up my "essencetapping?"

Thanks. And sorry if im so noob. Lol.

For alchemy you mostly need ores or elemental stones, all of which can be morphed from various aether types. So you can only level aethertapping and morph everything you need. But alot easier to level with Work Orders, the repeatable quests that you can do at every 10p levels of crafting but it takes alot of manual work getting the quests and the quest items from the npc but they can get you to 400p without any other materials whatsoever. Other than that when i leveled i think i did most of the various ore powders/gems, elemental stone powders/waters at the different levels to as high as the cheap designs get me, usually around x60p[x between 0-3) and then finished up with work orders. Its the same with 400+p and you should do all the gems coz you need them for the masters quest anyway, and then do the balic designs after 450p, check the npc in panda its a shugo in the left corner before the armor/weaponsmith tables for those designs.

Never apologize for wanting to learn anything in life! :)

Viseris gave great advice. Elemental powders and elemental waters will be your bread and butter for most things. As Viseris said, you can get the elemental stones from morphing. However, they're also often on the broker for cheap because people get them on their lowbie alts and sell them. But yeah, do the work orders when you're leveling up alchemy because it's the cheapest way to go. I mixed in a few crafts I know would sell too though -- like temporal stones, wind serums, and run/cast/atk scrolls.

Not sure if you really need true mastery anymore, but 400+ crafting is pretty simple, fine elemental stones to waters until it no longer gives a skill up, some pots 'should' be available to get you the rest of the way. once superior flight pots open up, you're on the downhill and actually at the point you can still make money. No need for the balic crafts, superior recovery pots/serums are about 460/470, which can be achieved spamming the flight pots. after maintenance is done I'll try to get a screenshot from 1 of my alchemists to show the path.

Superior wind serums and fine bracing waters are both level 500. True, you can just buy them on the broker, but they're very nice to craft yourself, plus they sell very well.

the bracing waters are still 500, but the 430/440ish craft for flight pots now gives the near infinate flight time superior pot result. I know because it tends to be what I place on broker when I've hit the npc limit dumping junk.

I'll make sure to have said design selected when I take the SS.

Wow. Thanks for the vast info. Im actually at 300-399p now. The crafting is really taking a dud now. As in you need to repeat the work orders 10 times to change the tasks..

Thanks for the info. Now im crafting GHP but theyre a bit laborious and I dunno if its worthit... im looking at crafting other stuff like scrolls which has fewer mats.

Now we have

 th_53264_Aion0020_122_16lo.jpg

it's waters from 400 to 430, then flight pots to 460 and can cruise on to 499 on recoveries...

Thanks. You even included a pic. Im an SM too. Hehe. Anyways. Thats my goal actually, craft flight serums and ofc the bracinf water. But I saw its recipe and gah. It has a ton of mats to collect...

Thanks guys for all the help. Right now what iam doing to have the mats is morphing. I lvled up my aethertapping to one of my alts (inventory!!!) and uses the aethers on my alchemist. DP wont be a problems as there are a lot of mobs in nors or enshar to farm dp. But any other means of acquiring them? (Except ofc broker and essencetap) NPCs??? Thanks..

The problem with fine bracing water is that it requires an untradable  item that you only get 1 from Infinity Shard for a successful run, so thats the limiting factor coz you can only do 2-3 runs per week and i dont see much groups even running it anymore hopefully if you have been collecting them you might have some headway, and you also need white ancient crystals that are made by another craft(weaponsmithing) but those i can make for you if needed just mail me in game. About the 400+p i guess i mixed up the gems with handicrafting, for the alchemy masters quest you need fine stone of wisdom and fine magic power crystal that are made from fine elemental stones -> fine elemental water/fine elemental dust, so the advice remains, make all those so you can level from them otherwise when you get to 499p you will gonna have to craft them anyway without making use of all those materials for leveling.http://aiondatabase.net/en/recipe/155007188/

aether is for sale in the crafting areas of capital cities/housing areas but those are a set limit per day.

on a side note, that's the extant of my alchemy goals... the mana stones were a rip off (friend who does make waters tried the design out... BAD results) I get a bit more consumable mileage from same char being a master cook...

A few items can actually be gotten in housing if you own a basic house(owned 4 to actually make the materials, not to be a douc....) Main req is that your neighborhood is a level 5 village.

G'luck

Hey there!  Just chiming in for my experience with alch & leveling it up.  My chanter is my alchemist and he's sitting at 510-ish alch and his only level 60 right now (I hit 500 when I was only 57).  What I would suggest is buying any recipe that wasn't a manastone or spellbook/orb and keeping those recipes in your book.  Scrolls you make are all the same (exceptions are the resistance & crit ones) and sell fairly quickly and for a decent amount of kinah.  Potions of all types will end up selling too.  Flight potions no  matter how much time they provide you when drank will sell.  When you are able to craft new materials for alch, DO IT!  And do it until they don't provide any more experience.  You WILL use all of those mats up.  Then once you've done that, see what you can make with them & craft that.  I was doing the whole work order thing for a while but I realized that it was much easier to go buy a lot of elemental stones from the broker (usually they're all fairly cheap) and then go over to the crafting table & start crafting all the stuff into materials while I went to go eat, shower, smoke, take a nap....I think you get the point.  Same goes for when I started to craft actual items.  I would take the materials I just crafted, head over to the table, set it to craft all (you will have to buy SOME stuff from the alch supply vendor as you would if you were doing work orders), and then go eat, shower, smoke, take a nap....again you get the point.

As others have pointed out, once you reach 400 in ANY profession, you can no longer do work orders and therefor you are responsible for coming up with how you are going level your profession.  I would suggest that if you can afford to buy one (kinah or with NCoin using real money) buy yourself a crafting boost scroll and then do what I said with setting it up to craft an insane amount of materials/items at once while you are afk (or watching a show on NetFlix or Pornhub ;-) ).  That will make your leveling the profession really quick.  I'm not sure if I got them because of being a prestige member or if everyone gets them but I got some crafting boost scrolls from Sanctum from an event lady every so often that I would use to do my mass production.  Do keep in mind, if you are doing this DON'T craft bundles.  ALWAYS craft single items.  You get the exact same exp and crafting progress if you set it to craft 1 item at a time as you did setting it to craft the bundle and make 10 of them (example:  making "uber leet wind stone" produces 1000 exp and progress if you make 1, making "uber leet wind stone" produces 1000 exp and progress if you make 1 bundle that yields 10 of the product).

Finally, you may have to shell out some kinah on the broker to level it up especially once you hit 400+.  If you have the finances IRL, buy some stuff from the BCM and sell them on the broker to make some quick kinah to funnel into your alch (or any other profession).  Quick sellers for that provide the most bang for your buck are unbinding stones (requires 60+ to buy), exp/crafting boost cards, dyes (for some reason true black & true white require lvl 30+ to buy but the rest don't), motion card Dragon's Set (requires lvl 30 to buy), Felicitous Socketing Box (requires lvl 60+), Tea of Repose (requires 61+), reviving stone (30+), instance entry boost pack (61+), and berdin's lucky star (66+).  These generally sell for 1M kinah for every 1 NCoin you spend.  The title card Aion's Chosen sells rather quickly as well & requires lvl 60+ to purchase but if you compare NCoin to kinah you're not getting your money's worth on that.  You WILL get a large amount of kinah at once (I'm making 1.5B-2B per card sold and spending 2720 NCoin for it though) but the ratio isn't as well as the others.  Keep in mind, those things I listed WILL sell but some times you have to wait a day or two for them to sell.

LordV... when I say ripoff, that's exactly what she tried crafting, expecting say MB 27/macc 8's or mb 27/hp 42's... and got MB and like block 5 or attack 7's...

PS

the craft bundle does have a use, but for items you no longer level up on, say you were at 460 skill and need more waters for making the recovery pots...

That's exactly what I was saying.  You get the same exp & crafting progression for crafting 1 item as you do 1 bundle which makes no sense at all.  You should be getting 10x the exp and progression when you craft a bundle.

I was agreeing with you, just suggesting NOT discounting it after the level was passed by. Some of your wall of text seemed to say not use it at all, if I misunderstood, let's go for tekillya shots and a guiness  ;)

OK so I'm an idiot and my comment above this one didn't come out right.  I meant to agree/back up you saying that and say again how crazy they are that you get the same exp for either of them.  But yes, the bundles do have their time & place IMO & that's exactly when you said when you don't get exp/progress from them.  And you're so on for tekillya shots but hold the guiness B|

we already headed to the pub for shots and brew, we're pretty chill...

It may cost a little to do, but I suggest when you go to make the 2nd craft(399/499)make sure to have 3 if not 4 crafts ready to go materials wise so you don't have to go back out and regain items.

Hello guys...

@Kiatra-KT or @Plezurenpain-DN

I was just wondering. Is there any craftable pots or anything between 460-499 except the recovery serum? The thing is super cheap in broker. Not really profitable to make. Unlike the wind serum which are really good.

I spent like around 20m trying to craft the thing and end up selling it @ 2m. :(

Anyways. TIA.

Sadly, there is northing profitable after the 460 mark to make until you hit 500 for the bracing waters. It's mostly personal use(and I still only make the superiors to archdaeva morph to vitals...)

It's super cheap because NPC's sell them as well.  I personally have both tapping skills at 499 and take advantage of guest blooms to not have to get my materials off broker. To keep making money, you may have to do the alt tab to youtube/crunchyroll/netflix/ mass crafting of flight pots and greater heal pots to fund further work.
