I suggest making the game F2P. Having a sub fee + optional $30 daeva pass sub (sometimes more if there are more than one pass like right now) + a cash shop that sells gear is predatory and will cause the current population boost to dwindle back to 1.x levels.

For the health of the game, just make it F2P

There is a F2P version of Aion is simply called Aion.

Aion Classic is a subscription only version.

When you install the Aion Client it allows you to switch between Aion and Aion Classic.
