Emeraldesque-DN
Editing is a great way to acknowledge other users, fix errors, and let new viewers get up-to-date about the current state of discussion. That being said, I feel we should be able to edit in the forums after five minutes! Not very much else to say here.
Cheesecake-DN
Editing is limited in part because of the "like" system on the forums. It wouldn't do well to have someone make a great post, get a bunch of likes, and then change it to "Hitler was right, and gays are bad." Suddenly, all the people who liked the post (who are even visible as liking that post) are terrible people for liking something so appalling. A small handful of us have extended privileges, but we're ones who handle class guides and error handling, who are trusted posters.
