GenericUser1539
As a veteran player, I decided to try out the new leveling by creating a new character. It's been 3 years since I last started a new character, so I don't know how much simplification was done before "Awakened Legacy". I only started 1 new character, an Elyos, so I can only comment on that side. Poeta. Way too simple. Zipped through it. I did not see any blue quests, so there were none of the side quests I enjoyed. (In my first 4 years, I only started 8 characters, so there was enough time between to enjoy the Poeta and Ishalgen quests each time.) Haramel. The simplified version was disappointing. While I understand some adjustments were needed, including a way to go down the lift as well as up, it could have been left as it was. Yes, that would have required more playing time, but would still have been better. Also, why auto-give the quests? I think it's better to get quests from the NPCs. Timolia Mine. Why not have just renamed the Abyss Gate to Balaurea Gate and use it instead of using Haramel? The Balaur are still important and the existing odium plot would still have worked. (Not saying to get rid of Haramel; instead, move Haramel to Heiron and make it the way it was.) Sanctum. I was disappointed to see so much of Sanctum blocked off. And so many of the stores gone. I was especially disappointed the library, the airship to the Outer Dock and the tavern were gone. (Yes, I know pieces of the library are scattered to several other locations, but I think this is a pointless change. And the "secret passage" to the underground temple.) (Similar comments for Pandamonium (I have old Asmo characters). Add the "flying saucers" to list.) Heiron. Good to see there were blue quests and they did have some role in leveling. Longer to get through, but still very fast when considering it's now covering the roles of 4 regions. Also, missing a lot of the fun side quests. Aethergenitics Lab. This solo version is decent. About what I would expect from making a group instance into a solo intance. Kromede's Trial. Seems some what simpler, but I've only gone through it once. I can only assume there is still value is going through it multiple times. (BTW, I really like the Kromede gear and would like for a way to apply its appearence to my gear.) Fire Temple. Wasn't lucky enough to find a group, so I couldn't try it. Indratu Fortress. The solo version of this is ok, not as good as the solo version of Aethergenitics Lab. Was disapointed to see Draupnir Cave and Azoturan Fortress gone. Also, the Icaronix The Betrayer story line with the Sliver of Darkness instance were a very interesting way to introdice stigma use. The new instance is basically re-play of the ascention test instance. This was a pointless change. Inggison. Why fix only 2 of the 4 oblisks? Overall, too easy and many of the fun side quests were gone. Talloc's Hollow. A large chunk of the map is gone. Kinquid was too easy to kill. As best I could tell, the purple and yellow smokes were not needed to kill him. Again, why auto-give the quests? A Sword In The Hand. Finding Suara (to get the sword) was way too easy. Where it previously was would have been a reasonable challenge. Moving the statue (entrance to Udas Library) out of the cave it was in is also way too easy. Again, the cave it was in would have been a reasonable challenge. Udas Temple. The mobs were too easy to kill. In particular, the Jotan were easier to kill than the Mistic Chakras, which were easy to kill. Cygnea. Unlucky day. Ran into a bug in the game and can't complete the first campaign quest, so I can't level any more until (and if) it's fixed (already reported and tried several suggestions from tech support). Also, didn't see any blue quests. Other comments. Too many of the instances were removed. Besides Draupnir Cave and Azoturan Fortress (mentioned already), I was very disappointed that Aturam Sky Fortress is gone. Also, the Baranath Dredgion, Chantra Dredgion and Terath Dredgion were also favorites of mine. Overall, I'm very disappointed.
MetaBlack-KT
Weren't you disappointed by slow shoes and absence of running scrolls? That was the first thing that disappointed me when I tried a totally new toon, so I only got him to lev 10, moved to the middle of Pandemonium, made sure that there was no Edandos with gear, no gear sold for transferring skins (like Raider's, Archon that we had before) and then dropped, cause all of this was depressing and annoying. I have some "supply" toons of lev 10 that were started during Homeward Bound event long ago, they have Daevanion gear, only these are possible to play imho. Did you find any dyes for gear? How many skins were available to your toon? I got an impression that armor dyes and skins can only be taken from old toons, no other way, or, skins may be taken from BCM but their number was reduced and the dyes disappeared. Am I correct? Best mounts disappeared from BCM (Sharptooth) and from Luna along with furniture and skins. I don't know for which kind of NEW PLAYERS NCSoft made these changes? For dumbest idiots who don't care about any beauty? Is this what our new Aion community is made of?? And wings without flight time, and gear without it too and without speed
MetaBlack-KT
PS: I hate any transformations that are not transparent. It makes me feel like an idiot.
MetaBlack-KT
BTW, if any coin gear disappeared, and Departed Soul, Dolan's, Reaper's, Demolition, Elder and such dropped gear too (looking same or similar), they were animated and rather beautiful, can we get them in any form again?
