Why is the RNG in this game so crappy?

Seriously NCsoft... WHY?

Armor enchanting, stig enchanting, refining stones, deava skills, combining Minions, combining Xforms.... It still feels impossible to get anything maxed out even for hardcore players. With how little motivation your player base has right now to even play, you should finally be changing these stupid rates! It has to be one of the biggest repeat complaints from the player base for years, so why not change it?

I guess RNG never was so great.

But I am agree that we never had so many items related with RNG. Now everything need to be upgraded or enchanted. You have RNG sometimes to get the item, then to tune the item, then to enchant the item, and so. Rates aren´t good. Maybe aren´t the worse in this game history, but there are soooo many things so it takes so much time and effort to complete everything. At this point is almost impossible to have more than 1 toon geared and ready to play.

Exactly! The time and effort just to get the gear/item, then the even more time and effort to farm whatever it is needed to attempt to enchant the item then the fail rate... it's beyond overwhelming and frustrating. I get it, some items, like the Paragon set, are suppose to be nearly impossible to get because they grant God-like stats... but basically everything else is the standard for even playing the game, so it shouldn't be so difficult to obtain and enchant!

I seriously challenge @Loki @Kibbelz or anyone from the NCwest staff to create a new blank character and start from scratch and see how hard it is to gear up a new toon these last few patches without whiping out your Credit Card or being hand fed everything just so you can participate in endgame content. It's almost impossible!

There's the problem with your challenge. That is not NCsoft's goal -- or any game company's goal. They need money. It is their goal to have us spend money on the game.

I always said there needs to be both RNG but sure ways to get the goal with more materials. Depriving players from a secure way of getting their goal is like asking for them to leave the game.

People cannot set goals, they just have wishes and they gamble on them with RNG.

Of course there are steps towards more secure ways, like the sure enchantments or the safe pads on stigma enchant levels etc. Still most of the game relies heavily on just being lucky and if not, you just press reset on all your effort and start over.

No it is not, If their goal is to have us spend money on the game they would of listened to the community when they said we want every skin back in the cash shop like many of the community asked.

They clearly are not taking the any money is good money approach they only want to keep specific spenders happy so chances are they do not care about making money they care about keeping the Credit cards swiping from those who want power with-in an aging game.

There are a ton of ways to get money from the players, but it's hard for them to have or keep players that might one day spend money on their game is the basic core mechanic of their game is so flawed that over the years it's been the #1 thing complained about.  (RNG)

Of course this is what they "want" but all of their actions end up doing the exact opposite.

Who on earth would spend money on something that will most likely fail. And it is not like BCM prices are dirty cheap, many things cost a ton of money because they base the shop in the good USA salaries and many people struggle to make ends meet people outside USA can never afford any of that.

You would be surprised how many players who know the product they enjoy is going to fail are willing to spend an insane amount on said product so it stays open to protect their prior investments visually around for them to look at.

Rich-stupid people, I wish I was one of them, on a financial point of view.

I have spend thousands with NCsoft over the years, but I never buy anything that involves RNG.  That's gambling, and I don't support online gambling.

My new years resolution was not to spend another penny on Aion until they fix the gear imbalance. It's gotten absurd. PvP is a total joke compared to how it use to be when Aion came out.

You were kinda supporting it by supporting the company that supports it. If you enter a casino and spent thousands in drinks, you are still giving them what they need to keep doing what they are doing.

I 100% agree with the pvp part. Some friends from private servers started to play NA Aion recently, and the first thing I said to them was: pvp is useless, avoid it as much as u can, otherwise you'll get frustrated and quit. (They played 2.0~4.0 versions of the game, when pvp was actually enjoyable).

I was just like you, i spend SO much money on this game when it came to skins and everything. But never on gear or a gamble. This was YEARSS ago though.

But I support you and honestly praise you. This is the ONLY way to get NCWest to change how they treat players. If p2w players just pulled out and stopped feeding into them, then they would make so much good change. I have been saying this for years. NCWest runs off the fact they know people will spend 1000$+ for every p2w event that comes around, but if people stop paying for that they will actually be forced to care for the game. f2p players are completely trashed on and looked over.

Now as for this, ive said it before and ill say it again. In my eyes, NCWest is EXTREMLY money hungry and they seem to have developed to whole idea that if youre not willing to spend a godly amount of money on their game then you dont deserve anything. NCsoft could rake in so much money by simply just putting skins back on the bcm, but I believe this is the opposite of their company plan. They feel that 10$ is too little for someone to get rewarded with anything, and have created the environment where you only benefit (even from  a little ol skin) if you spend 1000$+

I have been playing Aion since 2009, and I can first hand testify that modern PvP is useless.  I use to be part of a static Dregion group back in the days were the level cap was 50,  and it was great daily fun, the Abyss fort sieges were terrific.

Nowadays, unless you have a 50ms ping, you die without getting to fire off a single skill except maybe remove shock, by then it's too late.
