Returning player need some help

Hi guys

Been out of Aion for few years. Recently downloaded the game again and found my current eqs isn't doing any real damage to the mobs at Gelkmaros. Is there any information or quest i could do to upgrade my current eqs. Thanks alot.

Do the campaign quest and you will get some very basic gear. Do some Udas runs to get XP, then go the XP extraction quest from Windel. Most gear you buy nowadays is with Experience Marks.

Do the camp quests in Gelkmaros and get your renown up to level 4, then you can buy exp mark gear from the NPC in Gelkmaros (in one of the rooms above the broker room).

Look into some of the hidden mob locations in Gelk on google. Killing an elite will be difficult if you aren't doing much damage now but if you find a non-elite they still have a chance to drop ultimate armor and weapons (also ultimate manastones). I used to do that for all my alts and would always get a free weapon and a few pieces of gear so I didn't have to farm a bunch of XP marks.

Alternatively, if you have a decent amount of kinah, you can buy the exp gear off the broker. The weapon boxes go for 5-10 mil usually. The armor boxes are usually less than that.
