If you're doing emergency maintenance, please actually give an announcement.

There seems to be something wrong with the announcement system, I noticed it yesterday before maint. You don't get the alert pop up on the screen anymore, just white text in the chat window you can easily miss if there is a lot of chat going on,  pushing it off the screen.

I'll pass this along for feedback and investigation. In-game notifications were shared at approximately 10:15 as I understand, though as Alvie suggests they may have only been in chat. Regarding the issue itself, a fix was only identified very recently (within the last hour) and its immediate deployment prioritized.

bring back exp event, sensitive thing to do for all the uncertainty we went through since yesterday.

well, atleast you despawned everything so i didnt have to watch myself die. i guess thanks for that. just hope this maint is important, didnt get any information about what the restart was for, no notice in forums. jsut no imformation in general which is pretty bad. i dont think youre at risk of losing and players right now. but if it becomes a constant, i know plenty of players are will leave just cuz of lack of information. i mean, other non-NCsoft private servers did a better job communicating to its population. jsut seems like since i pay month and its an actual company. they were know how to deal with their population

I'm not talking about the ingame announcement that indeed was in the wrong chat.

The ingame announcement told us to check forums and twitter, twitter was only updated minutes before the downtime and your forum post was also not in advance of downtime.

 

So telling us to check for posts that didn't even exist.

probably you have lived under a rock since yesterday...the maintenance is about the daeva season 2 pass rewards. they are fu..ed.  information about is everywhere, lots of ppl complaining.

well. if living under a rock is the same as "doesnt come to forums often." than yes, i guess i do live under a rock. just dont know why this couldnt wait til next wednesday. but i also dont know how nyerked up it is and what all its affecting.

it was literally all over lfg, everyone was complaining about this issue, hence the urgent maintenance. it had to be emergency because people do not get their rewards in the daeva pass, myself included.

I'll do you one better.  I noticed the announcement in my default "All" chat tab, but not the default "Normal" which I pulled out as my main chat window.  And Normal chat has all System Info channels active.

Ask Dev to explain that one.

lol. welp, i also dont use LFG. constant kinah spammers and the occasional asian express raids. would rather jsut have it as a tab i look at from time to time. but the spam gets in the way of chat that i want to pay attention too. and it mightve been all over your lfg. but the times i was in lfg i didnt see anything about it. just more poeple complaining about people spending real money on candies to buy lannok weaps. too many people care about how other people play the game. lol. but yes., i live under the rock.  and i wouldnt call getting 10 running scrolls and 20 potions an emergency

I am having the same issue. I even had the system rescan all files. Unable to launch the client after the most recent update.

would jsut be nice if it was spammed across my screen, otherwise i dont pay attention to it. talking is for discord

For some reason it was not in my ingame chat, but some people saw it, others also said they did not see it in game either. Guessing whatever chat you guys use for the warning it's disableable or something...maybe consider bringing world chat in the game just for Dev Announcements?

only if i can hide it. i dont need another active chat log flooding my screen. lol

If the 'critical bug' is that some people aren't receiving their daeva pass rewards, yes it absolutely can wait. The rewards aren't going to disappear, 15minute notice is absurd. It's rather clear what content is priority for ncWest.
Instead we get no notice and a now broken client 1hr later :D

well its not game critical, but maybe lets say community critical. many people were angry about this. well maybe they could announce it 1h upfront and not 10min, but your instance CD will be resetted anyways. 

I guess the client is not broken, its probably because for the reason that servers are still down. i hope at least :D
