Weekly Server Maintenance - October 27, 2021

when the game becomes a second job and it no longer becomes fun and a place for you to escape from real life that's the time to put it down and sry but grinding like you've been for boiling balaur stains just to know that you could fail up to 10x, that's a huge no for me, i am actually quite excited that my aura runs out this weekend and i will not be resubbing as i've been on the fence for a while and patiently waiting to see if actual changes would have been made but that turned into a huge nope, i've spent maybe 20 min in the game this past week and i know that now is the time to shelf this game before i get more frustrated and angry at these gm's and devs for ruining my once beloved game, i'd like to at least hold onto some good memories intead of replacing it with this rubbish version of aion classic that it is

i know many players who subbed from the beginning their aura is also ending this weekend if they've been subbing one month at a time as giving ncsoft a heads up 3 month sub was just a no no especially when the game was becoming repeatedly worse, it's so bad that even on my few minutes in Siel, groups that were running for Dark Poeta were willing to pay tanks to run with them 100,000 kinah, that's laughable when weapons are going from anywhere 20M- 950M but that just shows you the sad state that the game is in and will continue to be

in the meantime it will be VR and Elyon for me and maybe just maybe they'll clean their act up before gelk/ing gets released but i highly highly doubt it, they're so incompetent they can't even find it in the code to change the dredgion commander's hp

Someone obviously got their proc and wants to try and keep it away from others.

In a game where RNG determines most everything, the sense of achievement that you speak of is not equivalent across the board for everyone.  In 2009/2010 the drop rate was very different as I had to farm 1100 bloods (1000 for my husband’s 9 fails and only 100 for mine since I proced the first time).  So using your math with old drop rates .. 1100 bloods would be at least 1400 hours .. or 2hrs a day for 2 years.

2 yrs for a pair of pants .. No thank you.

That isn’t an achievement that is a stupid waste of time and not a fun way to play a game.

No, that's just the classic experience.

If you cannot grind that much then do not bother with Miragent, because that math is the actual rate from 2009/2010.

People complain about drop rates, but back in the day a Bakarma's Spear took 6 months to farm.  A Tahabata weapon was something less than 5 people had on each server by the time 2.0 came out, a year after launch. Gold drops were so rare in the open world that when they dropped, it was announced to the entire zone. Extendable weapons from Trioran/Adma were very rare.

I have screenshots of old enchantment stone prices. The current stone prices are the same prices they were back then, without a candy inflated economy. Rarely anyone had +10 level 50 gear. When +15 came out in 1.9, it was impossible for any gear above level 40. And I mean impossible, because there weren't enough stones on the server for it. It was only until 2.0 that people +15'd any level 50 gear.

Gold drops were so rare that the rarity of Anuhart's was comparable Miragent to the point that Miragent was the logical choice for PvE gear progression, despite the huge investment.

There was no coin gear besides the platinum coin gear, and back in the day the weapon was 2,000 platinum coins, the armor set  another 2,000. There was no 400 platinum coin option.

The Classic we are playing right now is full of handouts and juiced up rates. The candies, Daeva Pass are more on top of the boosted drops and additional quests. The one thing that has been kept relatively the same is the Miragent/Fenris quest.

PLEASE do not overcorrect on the bloods. Miragents/Fenris should still remain a significant achievement and overall difficult set to obtain. The only ask is to make drop rates mirror that of the original Aion 1.x patch from 2009/2010, which, by the way, is not that much different from current drop rates (it took me 600 hours to farm 400 bloods in 2010).

Please do not put bloods in the Daeva Pass, or a Heart Heart of Magic in the Daeva Pass. We do not need handouts like that. It would ruin any sense of achievement or progression, and spoil the efforts of those who already went through a lot of difficulty to get the proc.

Things now are much different than they were back then; the population and lack of bots do not make this a good idea; adjustments should be made. I agree it should be an achievement, but you're failing entirely to differentiate between now and then.
