    You guys weren't there the last time they nerfed drops for two months. Or when they broke sieges for over three months, broke the flight dragon, had an unkillable Gojira, steel rake bans, the Halloween event nobody did, when they reset forts by accident twice, when they forgot siege HP and upper plats last patch, when they put the wrong event NPCs, etc, etc. The game has always been broken.

    Also, like two weeks after this shameful news post, they put L110s in the cash shop. lmao that's how much they care about you. Hey, you guys need drops? We'll charge you for it and give AP instead.

    The entire premise of this post was how much easier OG classic was. It seems your memories slipped. In classic, you weren't able to turbo to 55 with campaign XP. The broker wasn't loaded with gold armor drops. Free Steel Rake gear wasn't a thing. Full set of Anuhart from the cash shop wasn't a thing. Nobody could kill Taha or Stormwing.

    It's weird how righteous you're all acting. You all say not to give money, then turn around and say give money to GameForge. You cancel your auras and come back a week later. You sell your accounts and start new ones a month later. You act like you know what to do but you can't even do what you say.

    I've been posting for a year now about how drops should be improved. You can go read my post history. What pisses me off about everyone here, is how you think you know everything. You don't know. You don't know about me. You don't know how the game was in retail. You don't know how the game was in classic. You don't know how the game is now. You don't know statistics. You don't know how to quit. You don't know anything at all. Yet you all act like you know.

    Great take at start, terrible execution. Most of the people that are continously coming back are the ones that are playing since 1.x days. We all know that classic was much better than this with better drops.

    And I think your memory is slipping,  the OG server in 2.x days was much easier in terms of farming, with higher drop rate. I remember farming attack +5 stones from regular mobs, who would drop 1 stone every 30 or so mobs.

    Also, you are wrong regarding the socket rate for green and white. In classic, the rates are definitely lower for higher demand stones (Attack +5s, Green MBs, MAs, Crits and etc). If it took me 160 tries to socket attack 5s into a piece of gear (6 sockets), and about 100 stones stones to socket 2 full sets (60 sockets) using parrys, the odds are way off.  Korean games have been notorious for adjusting enchantment rates for things that are in higher demand to lower rate. Simply google Maple Story and Nexon's RNG Integrity rates and see for yourself. NCsofts lawsuit history itself is not pretty either.

    Greetings Daevas!

    Tomorrow we will be holding our regularly scheduled maintenance for Aion Classic.
    Downtime will begin at 6am Server Time (4am PT / 7am ET / 12pm UTC), and will conclude after approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes.

    The following changes will be coming to the game during this maintenance:

    • Void Trials Event Ends

    Ok, for the sake of testing I tried 200 cheap white stones (4K each):

    Success: 126 (63.00%)
    Failures: 74 (37.00%)

    Managed to fully socket a 5-slot eternal 8 times:

    1 -> 8 stones
    2 -> 28 stones
    3 -> 36 stones
    < --- "luck reset" pattern
    4 -> 8 stones
    5 -> 14 stones
    6 -> 36 stones
    < --- "luck reset" pattern
    7 -> 12 stones
    8 -> 25 stones
    then used the last 33 stones and managed once to socket 4
    < --- "luck reset" pattern

    If these were good stones at the current price of 2.5M that's 417.5M to socket your (just 1 set) PVE armor, a fused weapon and shield (assuming there are even 200 stones in the broker, which isn't the case since very long)

    This also assumes the success rate is the same with all types of stones, which from experience in 14 years of Aion, I know is not.

    Anyway very small (tedious) sample, and there are many other hidden factors involved, nothing in Aion is a simple RNG % (have you noticed for example, if you don't play for a while and come back to the game, or you bring someone new to an instance, drop rates seem to be amazing for a few hours/days, then back to shit). There is also a "luck" depletion factor by time/zone/items, i.e if nobody is socketing a certain type of manastones,  your own chance will be much higher than otherwise.

    Here is the interesting part though, white stones for me always go in very easily. Usually 2-3 tries to fully socket a gold piece.

    Though, some green stones that are less in demand have a very high success rate.

    I've socketed a full 50e set with green parrys before, with about 60 stones in total (no joke, did it 2 times on another toon).

    While with Attack/Crit stones, thats  a whole another story. The most I have spent was 160 stones on 1 piece of a gear. To socket the full set, solid 100-200 stones on average.

    MB stones have the same issues.

  4. 4 hours ago, Shirene-DN said:

    Those numbers are correct only if you assume their 60%/70% chance to socket is really a RNG generator, but it's not,  there are many other multiple hidden factors.

    Stones needed on average after socketing 1 million pieces:

    6-slot gold: 25
    5-slot eternal: 29
    6-slot eternal: 51

    But now tell me how many times you've really managed to socket a gold abyss piece with just 25 stones.

    There is RNG Integrity Law that was passed in KR 2 years ago due to a massive lawsuit against another company for lying about enchantment rate, which is the reason why we see the enchantment rate while socketing/enchanting.

    Though, U.S. does not have that law, so I do wonder whether this still stands or it was altered when passing on to us.

  5. To add to this, if you are a new player, look elsewhere. You'll just waste your time being frustrated in the end when you realize you gotta grind 6 months for top gear while there are no enchantment/manastones.

    I would say wait for Throne and Liberty. With Amazon publishing the game there is definitely a better chance of it being successfull than NCWest doing it.

  6. I've been seeing more and more new players coming into this game, and it sucks that they are coming into this.

    Honestly, the main reason why everyone has not quit yet is the investment that people already put into the game. When everything works, this game is fantastic for a 15 year old game.

    Some could say nastalgia, but the community is what keeps the people together usually. Some of the players here I've known for 12 years.

    Mechanically, this is the best pvp game I have personally played; with Lost Ark coming in second. PVE was also ahead of its time mechanically. The end game here is fairly well done if you like PvP.

    NCSoft developers are 10/10 when making games, but what drags the games down is the marketing by NCSoft that does not attract the western market. THey never tried understanding this market, which is the reason why it fails over and over again. NCWest is the publisher but after reading the glassdoor reviews, they don't have any power in game/marketing making decisions.

    So if you like PvP, this is definitely the game to go to. Though it is a big learning curve since most of the players here have been playing for 10+ years who know every class's mechanics.

  7. Hello NCSoft team,

    Please understand that due to the changes in 2.5, what we are paying for is not what is being advertised.

    Kinah Drops: 150% - still not fixed after 2 weeks. The economy is going downhill again with enchantment and manastones prices through the roof due to shortages. 2 weeks worth of siels aura without this feature.

    Abyss Point Acquisition (relics) - addressed today by your team, however, we had 2 weeks worth of siels aura that we paid for without this feature.

    Due to the false advertisement, we expect some kind of reimbustment of giving us back the 2 weeks of siels aura (3 weeks next week), or additional relics/plat medals just like you did with the previous compensation. We are paying you for something you are advertising.

    I came back to this game due to this advertisement, I will leave again (among many others) if this gets swept under the rug. Again.

    Thank you.

  8. Hello NC team,

    I have to admit, this is the first time in a LONG time I have seen NCWest communicate on thier mistakes. Usually it gets swept under the rug just like you guys did with the forts reset a month or so ago.

    Even though it was a big mistake, the type of communication AND compensation that we received yesterday is what we want from your team when things like that happen.

    The fact that you communicated on the Item drop issue the following day of the patch rollout is very impressive. Usually it takes months for any type of communication when it first gets brought to light.

    Now we need some type of communication on the Relic Turnin adjustment issue.

    You put yourself in a bad light when nothing is communicated, but when communincation happens, we do appreciate it.

  9. 100% agree on this. An absolute embarrassment of an event.

    I feel like any time NCSoft releases anything, there is always a lower cased but   any time there is a new event. Quite literally, the events that we have seen, you oversell and HARDCORE and underdeliver.

    Other drops: Balic Materials (100% drop rate) - 1 random balic drop per run. Which is nothing.

    In comparison, you need 42 Firm Balaur Horns (which are none existent), 6 Curse of Wrath (don't get me started on this one), and I believe 23 Firm Balaur Skins for 1 attempt of a weapon.

    For the love of god, stop overselling things and hyping everything up when you know you won't deliver what you promise.

  10. Hello,

    The lack of balic mats on the broker has been extremely frustrating, making it almost impossible to craft any balic equipment.

    We have to rely on bots to farm those mats and put them up on broker since it is impossible to farm them by yourself. I've tried to farm them for an hour, only got about 2 Firm balaur skins and 1 execration of terror.

    I definitely remember that in original Aion 2.0, you could farm it yourself. Now, it is basically impossible.

    Also, no one is even attempting to craft Balaur Armor because of the amount of materials needed for the full set, which is basically not worth the time because of the amount of money that you will spend.

    Please do something about it.

  11. Hello GMs,

    The game has been unplayable for me since the release of 2.4 due to the constant DC... and by constant, I mean 2 times an hour. This issue applies to everyone with Windows 11.

    I would randomly DC just running around pvping once or twice an hour. There have been instances where my game would simply crash, or freeze up to the point where it does not even appear in task manager.

    While doing arenas, I constantly DC when I press "enter". Same thing goes when I do Tiak or Dredge (probably due to cross server issue).

    I am not using ping reducers, and I have switched to WIN 8 compatibility mode to fix the issue, but same thing applies no matter what.

    @EMpulse Will you please report the issue to the higher ups? I doubt that they will do anything, but the game has truly become unplayable.

    Not disconecting here. It's likely a issue with you. Using VPN such as ExitLag? Maybe that's causing the issue. Another player said it stoped DCing after closing ExitLag.

    That said I still use ExitLag and only once the game froze loading into Arena since patch.

    I don't use any ping reducers. This issue comes up for people who have windows 11 for some reason.
