  1. Actually very hard. Everything is peachy up until stage 7, then it seems like the mobs just have a million MR and evasion. At stage 10, they start doing some noticeable damage and all efforts to damage/cc them seem to be futile. Has anyone actually beaten stage 10 yet? It is even possible without full ultimate gear? I wonder what kind of enemies await on higher floors...
  2. Something needs to be done about PvE

    This statement is just... wrong. The PvE population dies even faster if its players aren't being rewarded enough. It comes down to a careful balance between progression and longevity. Allow players to progress too fast, and they will be left with nothing to do until the next patch comes out, but focus too much on longevity by making progression excruciatingly difficult, and players will leave discouraged. The latter is Aion's current situation, only much worse. PvE progression is currently locked behind a RNG-exclusive looting system. Not only that, the RNG is absolutely atrocious. Assuming a 70% chance for ultimates to drop from PF/IDD (it's probably lower than that), there is only a 1.2% chance per run to get a specific piece of armor you need, assuming you are the only one rolling for it in your group. For the rest of your gear, it's: 1.9% for wings/plume/bracelet, 1.4% for ring/necklace/belt/earring, 0.4%-0.9% for weapon (depending on class). Again, this is assuming no one else in your group is rolling. Nobody should be forced to play the game with such abysmal progression rates. The only praise I can give Aion's current PvE loot system is that it's not as horrible as its enchanting system. But honestly, if the only positive thing I can say about something is that it's not the worst thing ever, it's probably time to change.
  3. Who made decisions about Aion NA

    I think the reason we need permission from Korea for even the smallest change is because our NA publisher, NCwest, is a subsidiary of NCSoft. EU can make changes by themselves because Aion is published by Gameforge over there. As for the Cyan/Hime... it does seem a bit fishy how little work they are putting into Aion. I don't know about the other games, but if their attention is split equally amongst all 3, that doesn't feel like enough workload for 2 full time employees. I mean Cyan literally makes 5 forum posts a week here, while Hime is nowhere to be seen. On the other hand, if they are spending most of their time on the other 2 games, well that should tell us something about the future of Aion here in NA.

The gaming industry is in a precarious position right now, with publishers exploiting the lucrative profits of loot boxes as much as they can before most governments catch on and pass laws against this form of gambling. Many EU countries have already banned these practices, so I think t's just a matter of time before loot boxes disappear forever. Here in NA, Aion doesn't currently have this problem, which doesn't really help... since the RNG stuff not locked behind paywalls is just as bad if not worse.
  5. Pity Counter for RNG Related Mechanics

    I'm sure the Aion developers are aware that a system like this can only be healthy for the game. In fact, pity counters have existed in the past for drops from certain end game instances, but were removed with patches as those instances became irrelevant. I can write paragraphs upon paragraphs detailing NC's blunders with Aion over the years, but to summarize: consumer friendly mechanics like this are either very low on their list of priorities or they simply don't care about them.

    Those are the only 2 (kinda) reliable ways. BoS has a very small chance to drop a random A grade minion. These contracts are brokerable, so you can always buy them if you have the kinah.

    To me, it seems more like they simply don't care about Aion anymore, and moving their resources to other projects while slowly letting the game die. @Cyan Tell me I'm wrong

    5000? I'd be shocked if there were just half that many. For ncwest right now, it's not about the lower population willing to purchase from their store. It's not even about what's profitable for them or not. Any Aion player in 2019 must realize the items currently in high demand: enchantment stones, transparent transformation scrolls, and Daevanion skill books. Yet none of these items are in the BCM. All we get are recycled skins and useless pets that they "removed" from the game, only to have them reintroduced later. I'll be quite frank, you'd have to be an idiot to either SELL or PURCHASE any of these irrelevant items. My only conclusion is that ncwest simply doesn't care about Aion anymore, because not even an utterly clueless publisher can be this irresponsible with BCM microtransactions, its only form of income in Aion. Zombie... please don't bother trying to use Luna to reroll stats. Have some self respect and save your money for the future, on actual useful items that may or may not reach the BCM.

    I've probably encountered 20 smugglers and have never seen a book drop. Is that 25% tested in NA or other regions? What's your sample size?
  11. Transformation System

    If you afk Luna on at least 4 characters, you can get 80 transparent scrolls per week, which is more than enough to do everything in the game short of random pvp. It's a very inelegant solution to the problem, but until ncwest gets their act together and make the scrolls more accessible, it's the best we can do.

    Ooooh ok. I think the first 4 or 5 I opened all had 5k in them so I just thought it was always 5k and never bothered to look at it further. Thanks for the clarification.
  13. I remember opening these a week or two ago and getting 5k shards per bundle, and it was the only semi-reliable way to get a lot of shards fast. Today I opened a few and only got 1k from each. I heard from someone that you could get 10k, but whatever the chances of that are, they are low. Am I just remembering things wrong? Or did anyone else notice this?

    If you have the Inescapable Choke Davanion skill, try this rotation in the video: If you don't have the skill, take a look at my 5.8 rotation. It's slightly different from 6.2, but overall it should be similar. I'm not perfect, but if you have any questions, I can try to help you.
  15. Crucible Spire seems a bit... hard

    Well... after almost 2 months, I still can't beat floor 10. It's like not even sorta kinda close for me. There's literally no chance at all. My SM has about 13k attack and 13k MA. All I can do is hit the mobs for non-existent damage as I slowly watch my HP reach 0.

    Uh... sorry Cyan, but this is just false. PvE stones are by FAR (not even kinda close) less abundant than PvP. I don't know what game you've been a CM/CC for, but it certainly isn't Aion.

    My theory is that they want us to use the broker to trade items between characters. Inconvenience aside, the ~14% fee that we have to pay for any transaction is a very powerful kinah sink, which I think is the whole point of items being brokerable but not tradeable. If I'm correct, it's a very questionable move on the devs' part, but I'm not Korean so what do I know...

    2000 shards a week for 7.6m kinah... that's a testament to how clueless NC is. Whether it's KR or NA who made this decision, it needs to be revised. An end game boss currently can take up to 7000 shards per player depending on class. What is 2000 per week going to do when we have at least 5 bosses (4 PF + 1 IDD) to do? And that's not to mention pvp.
  20. Forcing players to trade through the broker.

    It's obvious that Aion devs intended for most items to be untradable yet brokerable. It's also reasonable to assume that they expect many players to use the broker as a means to trade items amongst friends. This, combined with the removal of private shops and the increase in broker fees is clearly meant to be a massive Kinah sink for Aion. The numbers in the economy were too high, and NCSoft wanted to lower them; it kinda makes sense. Whether this forced change in economy is actually healthy for the game here in NA is up for debate.
  21. I read somewhere that you could open a legendary from a basic contract, and that almost made me want to purchase a few from the BCM. After seeing this... no thanks.

    I still call it a Shugo even though I'm perfectly aware that it's a Shulack. I think it's the same phenomenon as calling every siege boss "Dux". We know it's wrong, but correcting someone for using the wrong term in these scenarios just seems overly pedantic.
  23. Still bugged "Magic Resistance" duplicated name.

    Until the fix, a general rule of thumb is that Magical Defense (ie. MS) is typically the one with smaller numbers, and Magical Resistance (ie. MR) is the one with bigger numbers.
  24. About Send logs...

    Is there a way to skip the loading required to get back into Aion after a send log? I think I read some time ago that there's something you could modify in a certain config file but I'm not entirely sure if that violates the ToS. Does anyone have info on this?
