Where forums are superior than discord is they are an organized searchable structure.
Discord channels are one large blog with no topic specific structure, it serves a different purpose.
Where discord wins is that a lot of payers were already on there because of their legions or other games, so it's no big deal to add another channel.

The maintenance is more than just North America, Taiwan, Japan are offline to in completely different time zones.

I know when Aion came out in 2009 I use to go to the local games shop and buy a 3 month subscription voucher. DId that for years until they went "Free to Play"

I dont know why did you bother with that answer.
We are not on 2.7 we are on 2.8 and there is 2.8.2 coming before 3.0
If you look at the releases you would notice that we get the patches about 6mths. after KR, which got it on 27th Oct. 2023.
Therefore we should be getting 3.0 late April, or sometime in May, which is months away as I have pointed out twice already.
We are only in February if you haven't noticed.

Normal Aion is fine, it's only Classic that has this problem, and only since 2.8 patch.

I am amazed how many people have reported this problem, which only started with the 2.8 patch, and yet NCsoft have done nothing about it.

fine is from the Ingg fort quartermaster, major is from the Divine fort quatermaster. You can also convert fine -> major if you are high enough alchemy.

The 7 day cool down on character deletion is an important feature, lots of people rage quit a character because of something that happened, and in a couple of days they calm down and find a reason to play it again. If you seriously want to change factions, then just be patient.

That will be because the portion of English speaking players has dropped right off since Classic launched, which is kind of funny considering it's an North American server. I would suggest Guildwars 2 if you want a functional tribe to hang out with. Legions in Aion are exclusive not inclusive.

I see people using Doom Lure when there is no Templar in the group.
I see people using Fear when there is no SM in the group.

If you QE in Dredge or Tiak, the chances are it wont form a functional group. Most people there will act as selfish individuals, rather than teamwork.
This is quite a problem in Aion, teamwork is what keeps people coming back.
You can prevent it a bit by forming a group first, but that's no guarantee.
What you need is a friends list of people that know how to work as a team, they don't need the best gear etc., just working as a functional group will give you the sense of belonging that makes it worthwhile. Just like any team sport.

One of the worst parts is, there are materials I need to gather in AB, and it's a given that I will be killed by and enemy group whilst trying to do so.
It's not like you form a PvP group just to gather materials.

There are at least 3 threads open on this problem.
It was introduced with the Aion Classic 2.8 update patch, and is yet to be solved.
Don't hold your breath.
Open a support ticket on it, the more the better.

It's rather annoying.
It's a bug introduced with the 2.8 patch. Prior to that I never had the problem even once.
As noted in other threads, it happens on multiple PCs, even after a clean install.

Yes but it lacks threaded subjects like a forum, so you don't end up with an organized archive of posts. Discord is a blog with channels not a forum with channels, subjects, threads.
If human knowledge was organized like a discord blog, we would still be rubbing two sticks together to make fire.
