What happens is that if your team is afk the enemy team doesn't win war points so they can't upgrade their transforms to gain more damage and kill tower quicker. And on top of that if the other team went for a tanky build like temp, mace, chanter/glad, destroying the tower maybe takes like 3 kunax spawns.
