What is the faction population like for the classic server starting new and dont want to pick the dead side

Thats actually a funny joke. Well done.

Unless it's not a joke. Then I'm afraid you are very very out of touch with the game.

I hope you read this comment before it get's deleted, because it will. For some reason that's a trend now. Deleting comments exposing their nyerkups.

Anyways. This is the best advice that anyone will be able to give you: DO NOT START PLAYING neither Aion or Aion Classic. The game is dead and it will take you roughly a year to catch up, and that is if you play a lot. Or around 4 months if you P2W HARD. But is it worth to P2W in a dead game?

Virtually no open world PVP. You will find the same handful of players everyday, and they are the top geared ones for the most part. The rest is just trading kills with their spies on the other faction for easy daily quest completion.

In PVPVE instances you will be facing geared premade groups 95% of the times (from experience, not making up numbers) and will lose 100% of those encounters. If you QE and even if you make a group you are still risking enemy spies in your group to afk, unless you know everyone in your group, of course. But who is going to carry a fresh 55 in Tac's gear? Idk.

AP is easier to accumulate in this patch, that is true BUT you are still limited by daily quests for medals (and this depends on which faction you chose) and kinah to buy enchantment stones and manastones and godstones and to craft if that's your thing, or to buy scrolls.

If after that you still want to continue then here is your answer:
Elyos are winning right now. Asmos do not show up in numbers for Abyss Sieges, and sometimes lose more forts than they should in Ing/Gelk. Both sides are "dead" for a MMO, though.

What terrible advice. If you dislike Aion so much why are you here?

If you want to experience Classic Aion (which has always been p2w... newsflash.... NCSoft) then play it. Enjoy the game for what it is.

Decent story, good graphics for the age of the game, amazing character creation, nicely built world zones with nice music.

Have to agree, pretty much hit the nail on the head and didn't sugar coat it.

I mean, he is not lying.

The "enjoy the game for what it is" doesn't work for a dead MMO. You need another players to play with. And I agree that it will be hard to find groups as a fresh 55 in Tac's gear (at least Tac's and SR gear are pretty much free nowadays). Still missing decent accessories when you get to 55, unless they are giving some away in campaigns too.

Where did he stated that he dislikes Aion? If even after what he wrote he is still here, it suggests the opposite.

If only NC had listened to players 1 year ago...

Edit:

I forgot about the ridiculous prices for stigmas still, if you can even find them!

There is a shortage of most items that make the game playable.

So many players left that the broker is almost useless.

Most who left the past few months, haven't stopped playing  Aion, they just stopped playing Classic.

My routine now is I log on once a day, do Dredge, log off until the next day.

There is no point working on gear, can't get enough medals. Don't like PvE or arenas.

Dredge got capped at only once per day instead of 3x, which has to be the dumbest move.

I think it doesn’t concern ncsoft much as 70% of the population are bots and they are paying for aura.

Aion is a game where you need lots of player and balance between both side to enjoy it (was good, not great when classic or retail started). so now the game had reach the retail state since 2.0 release where one side has more then the other but to ncsoft, it is balance due to the population of bots.

doubt ncwest will do or can do anything up to this stage so those who will play will play, those who have something else (but love Aion) would just login to run around and gank player who are questing. A cycle that would further reduce players.

Pluses story, content graphics for a older game are awesome.

now the cons.

Supply side issues on pretyy much every item.

Manastones still super expensive when they explode.

Medals are through the roof 2mill+ per medal.

Stigmas again some are still super expensive making it hard for new or return players.

Godstones still a very limited supply, can if lucky obtain from your boxes but they are super rare.

Playerbase is largely the geared players who havent yet left, there isnt a healthy mix of geared and people gearing up,as a poster said Dredge and Tiak is likely going to be against geared premades, not saying cant occassionally win and  get lucky, just rare.

The problem is the pay2win aspect from the very start ruined it for a lot of people.Even now they want players back but then make them pay with the returnee and beginner pass, instead of making people pay too return these should be free for people who quit for over a month.

Even for a old game classic had the potential to be awesome players still like aion, they just dont like the way its run and how players are largely ignored by nc korea, who dont have a grasp on their market.

Another  issue i forgot Time gated content.

Destroying dredge too 1 entry has killed it for a lot of people.

Fort instances really 1 entry a week again just ruins fun for people.

Everything in this game is Time gated limited entry it really doesnt make people want too sub when can log for 2 hours do dredge tiak and your arenas then logout.

I have played many games and the time gating and instance locks in this game are really over the top, people need a reason too log in gating literally aspect of this game with daily.weekly entrys just kills it for people.

If i play wow i can arena/bg 24/7 i can do loads of content without timegates apart from raids obviously, this design too timegate everyone actually makes the game dead because why bother logging when can get most things done in a couple of hours then your locked till next reset.
