  1. When they said maint would be at 3pm pacific, i thought they meant ON WEDNESDAY when siege is at 8pm, not on tuesday when it's at 6pm.
  2. 95% correct. The only thing I will say is that if we had manastone drops like we used to in retail, we wouldn't need the manastone protection quality of life change. The reason why they eventually made manastones not break on fail was because manastones started getting so expensive that people refused to socket without using a felicitous socketing stone (effect: guarantees 1 manastone socket success.). Also part of the reason why our manastones cost so much more is because of both bots and candy sellers injecting kinah into the economy. When you've got whales that bought 2billion kinah looking to socket gear, they buy everything and raise the standard for what things should cost. Though those prices are perpetuated by there being NO SUPPLY COUPLED WITH OUTRAGEOUS DEMAND. Just make instance non-boss monsters drop a lot and it will encourage players to full clear dungeons for drops, while greatly limiting kinah injection from bots .
  3. that's per person, right? everyone got 7x level 60 manastones?
  4. I've been saying it since before classic patch 1.5 dropped. The plan was always to keep us playing aion as long as possible. NCSoft delayed licensing Aion Classic EU specifically so they could stockholm people on Classic NA as long as possible, then get us to all play Classic EU instead when that comes out, thus getting everyone to play aion classic for 3 years instead of 1-2, increasing the money they get from licensing the game to NCWest and Gameforge in the process. They don't care about a catastrophic gamebreaking patch because they were already expecting a mass exodus from NA anyway.
  5. Y'all really think primali is even allowed to do anything from that account other than post the update message supplied to him by his boss then log into the next fake mod account to do it again for the next ncwest game? He'd probably get fired for talking to any of you.
  6. Honestly this 1 change would get the whole server doing their arenas every day. There's basically no way to gain wealth from doing arenas so most people just ignore it. it'd also get people to do empyrean crucible, since at the original reward rate that'd be 3 extracts per run.
  7. NCSoft had lofty ambitions in 2.0. Originally, forts didn't have a maximum capture counter on them. NC expected one faction would gain momentum and push into the enemy's map, take their forts, kill their bosses, then get forced back out after the enemy's frustration built, like waves washing up and down the coast. That didn't happen. One aspect of this was making padmarashka and sematariux be world bosses. They thought it was in any way possible that 1 player could get 1 of each weapon. They planned on having a means of combining them through a quest to make a mega weapon, but after many months of that clearly not happening, they decided to take padma in another direction, and even then as a 48 man raid, still nobody really killed padma outside of some glitch manipulation kills in late 2.X early 3.X. It was all just wishful thinking.
  8. ??? Nuglark Ruins bots literally all left. IDK if because of bad drop rates or the owner quitting for EU but there's definitely less bots now than there were last week.
  9. like khan says, the safest positioning is against the pillar. When you're on the pillar, for some reason all of stormwing's tornadoes from [Threshing Wind] skill go away from you. In addition to being near the pillar, you need to be 2 meters away from stormwing. If you are closer than 2 meters, you will be in the tornado's trigger range and they will all attack you at the same time when they spawn under stormwing. when stormwing runs away to your team, you CAN follow to hit it a few times to keep aggro up, but always wait a few seconds to double check that she didn't just spawn a stack of tornados ready to 1shot you. Around 33% hp left, stormwing calls out, [YES! MY POWER GROWS STRONGER!] and gets a buff. After this point, sometimes glitch tornados will spawn on top of you and get stuck in the pillar. As long as you do not move, these glitch tornados should not hurt you. If you notice them hurting you, you should reposition. It is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS to run through stormwing during enrage phase, so you should go around the back of the pillar. This will break line of sight to your cleric for half a second, so be careful and call out that you are moving if you use voice comms. If another aggressive glitch tornado spawns on you in this new location, you need to step towards the center of the arena to pull stormwing back, then run around stormwing to the south wall. This is your final safe spot. if that spot gets glitch tornados, you're doomed lol. I included a basic drawing for you Finally, After 33%, Stormwing can hit you with THE WOMBO COMBO. About 4 seconds after [Dragon's Quake], SW will drop a delayed blast lightning strike on everyone's location. The combination of tornado aggro, this delayed lightning, and a special instant cast tankbuster nuke SW sometimes does, can easily deal 20k damage to a tank. THIS is what you are trying your hardest to survive. If you survive this, your party will probably be fine. It usually happens after the 2nd [Dragon's Quake]. There's only a few things you can do to prevent death here. Cry of ridicule to block dragon's quake and keep your hp as high as possible before it comes. save empyrean armor and prayer of victory and use them starting at 33% hp when stormwing enrage buffs so your max hp is as high as possible use iron skin or Emp providence or ask your chanter for word of spellstopping immediately after dragon's quake stun ends. Most groups, if you keep yourself safe from glitch tornados, and stagger iron skin, empyrean providence, chanter WoS, and templar 4kDP Nezekan's Shield, you should have no problems surviving the enrage phase. High end groups have templars in full DPS spec surviving enrage phase with just iron skin, so you should only need all 4 of those big shields if your group is really ungeared.
  10. the average player earns <100k ap, <10 worthwhile green manastones, 0-1 usable enchant stones, and <10 plat medals from siege a week. You're high out your ass if you think the tryhards of the server having to hold relics for 3 weeks is worth 3 months of progress for each of your 5 alt accounts. cope harder.
  11. I know you're trolling but that doesn't make this any less of an annoying post.
  12. Could you please clarify? Does this mean: A) We have identified that relic exchange is not benefiting from the 150% siel's aura bonus even though it is supposed to and will restore it at a later date. or B) We have determined that relic exchange is not supposed to benefit from the 150% siel's aura bonus, and it was a mistake that it previously did benefit from that bonus.
  13. I know it was a glitch / improperly implimented server patch, but I have to say today's drop mania was probably some of the most fun I had in Aion in a while. Why? Because it was new. We've always had everything in a database or korean wikis and thoroughly researched ahead of time. We never have to figure stuff out, just look it up and do it. Today was open season with everyone asking questions about what to kill. Everyone saw the mapwide anouncements and pieced it together. Figuring out which mobs were mirroring what bosses was cool. When I saw Sematariux armor dropping, I was so excited, not because it was money or extracts or skins, but just because it was an item nobody in NA had ever possessed before. That was retail 2.0 content that nobody ever did. I remember a video that one time, one single time, Naruto got his server together to kill Padmarashka one time before it got made into an instance, but I don't know if anyone ever killed Sematariux. Today I ran into players grinding in the open world in places i've never seen players before. I saw officers running around not xformed. There was a reason to be out in the overworld grinding random mobs. I got new experiences in Aion for the first time in a long time. It was pretty great. It'll all be reverted and all the cool stuff will go away, but it was fun to be part of it. Please don't roll back the two tahabata weapon boxes I procced tho Plz share a time in aion that you had (more) fun (than usual).
  14. Edit: I should really finish reading the thread before replying to check if the thing i was gonna say wa already said by several people already
  15. Thanks for putting me in the screenshot! I can't wait to get banned
  16. would be more fair if only the top 10% of active players could xform, but they'd never make a change like that. it's admitting defeat and also something the korean devs would have to impliment, which, why would they code anything new for a server that doesn't even have enough players to function with the normal xform distribution?
  17. It wasn't free to play. They couldn't be happy with hundreds of thousands of dollars of whale money selling candies and other CS stuff. They had to put a "not" mandatory paywall on it to squeeze out another 30-40k a month. Even if you have a cash shop, only a very small number of players will make use of it, and they only make use of it as long as there is a population of less-wealthy players willing to buy those quna items with kinah. You just can't provide a large enough population to a 15 year old failed-wow-killer in a subscription environment. Much like how a specialty physician needs a certain population to support their services, whales need a certain population to support their quna item selling, and without enough peasants in need of quna items, the whales are starving and looking elsewhere for food. Aion classic sprinted out of the gates only to fall and break both legs after only a week. Since then it's been crawling and bleeding out. I'm amazed we had a year's worth of blood in us.
  18. Did you look at how many of them are in theobomos? more than half.
  19. Personally I don't really care either way. If they exchange 2.7 sigs for 2.0 sigs then cool, I get gear day 1 after the patch. If they don't, then i've got a stockpile saved up to be ahead of the curve when 2.7 eventually comes.
  20. for PVE DPS you want to focus on dual wielding. Most gladiators will only ever be dagger-sword dual wielders, but if you can manage to get your hands on a good warhammer that has +attack and +crit bonuses, you will want to use it. Maces have base magic boost. Magic boost increases the damage of godstones. Which godstone you use is up to you. 20% and 10% godstones will activate very often on dual wield weaving and give very consistent damage output. 2% and 1% godstones will activate once or twice in a boss fight, but they will hit very hard and if you get good RNG it could speed up your boss kill time by a few seconds. Reminder though, you NEVER socket mboost as a gladiator. The base mboost from the mace and its enchant level are enough. The list of viable warhammers is small, and most of them cost a lot, but that's life as a gladiator - highest potential, priciest weapons. The most cost effective option is likely Skuma's mace for elyos or Chieftain Ulagu's mace for asmos. They'll probably be on sale within a week or 2, just as soon as someone gets the recipe drop, and don't cost very much to make. Keep your eyes peeled. There's also the Pacification Warhammer, which has a higher attack mod, but is a world drop from beshmundir temple so they'll be a little less common i think.
  21. I submitted one yesterday just before i bumped this thread. They said they'd forward it to the Quality Assurance Team for investigation.
  22. Was about to make my own thread for this but i'll just post here. Arena of Chaos and Arena of Discipline currently reward crucible insignias [item: 186000130] (purple) and courage insignias [item: 186000137] We are supposed to be rewarded with *new* crucible insignias [item: 186000169] from both arenas, with Arena of Chaos also rewarding Chaos Insignias [item: 186000171] and Arena of Discipline rewarding Discipline Insignias [item: 186000170] The shops in Kaisinel's Academy and Marchutan Priory only accept new insignias + Chaos or Discipline, and do not accept purple + courage. The old crucible insignias and courage insignias are supposed to be added in at a later date when the full empyrean crucible content suite is added. For now, we are supposed to be getting the new version + chaos / discipline insignias so we can actually make use of the arena reward shops.
